Govt decreases petrol price by Rs3.05 per litre for first half of August

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan on Sunday announced a cut in the price of gasoline by Rs 3.05 per liter for the first half of August 2022, according to a statement by the finance department.

Following the price changes, petrol will now be offered at a price of Rs 227.19 per liter. Before that, gasoline was sold in the country for 230.34 rupees per liter.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs 8.95, then the new price will be at Rs 244.95 per liter.

On the other hand, kerosene, which was previously priced at Rs 196.45 per liter, will now be sold for Rs 201.07 per liter after an increase of Rs 4.62.

Light diesel recorded a slight decrease of Rs 0.12 then it will be sold at Rs 111.32 per liter from the previous level of Rs 191.44 per liter.

According to the announcement, the changes come after the price of petroleum products in the international market fell.

“Due to fluctuations in oil prices in the international market and changes in exchange rates, the government has decided to adjust the current prices of petroleum products to pass on the impact to consumers” , the statement said.

He added that the new prices will take effect from August 1, 2022 and stay the same until August 15.
