KARACHI: Two Pakistani athletes  Arshad Nadeem and Jamshed Ali  will go directly to the finals of their respective events after the organizers canceled the qualifying round due to low scores in the Commonwealth Games.

An official of the Pakistani track team at the Commonwealth Games confirmed to Geo News from Birmingham that the javelin throwers (Arshad Nadeem) and pitchers (Jamshed Ali) will not participate. their scheduled qualifiers. “Our two athletes will play the final live, Jamshed will play the shooting final on August 5 and Arshad will play the javelin throw final on August 7,” said Sadaf Siddiqui, who Pakistan track and field team manager told the media.

A source told Geo News that the qualifiers were canceled due to the limited number of entries for the respective events.

Previously, the pitching qualifiers were scheduled for August 3, while the javelin throws were scheduled for August 5.

Arshad Nadeem has also confirmed to Geo News that he will not be competing in the qualifiers and will go straight to the final on August 7.
